Owners and office staff preparing a migration
Move the operation without losing its history.
Prepare customers, sites and container records for migration. Download operational worksheets and use a small reconciliation before moving the whole operation.
Operational templates
Download editable CSV worksheets. All example records are synthetic. These organize operational checks; use the import preview to map supported fields before applying data.

Replace the sample rows with authorized records. Keep originals and attached photographs separately; these worksheets contain no image files.
How it works · 01
Clean identity before importing volume
Choose the records that represent the current operation: customers, service sites, physical containers and open work. A customer name is not a stable identifier, and a jobsite address is not necessarily the billing address. Mark duplicates for review before importing; do not silently merge two people because their names look alike.
Smooth Hauling’s import workflow supports mapping and preview before applying a batch. Use it with a small synthetic or authorized sample first. Confirm required fields, units, dates and rejected rows. The operational worksheets below help organize the source material; they are not a promise that arbitrary spreadsheets can be uploaded without mapping.

Reconcile the business, not just the row count
A migration can contain the right number of containers and still put them at the wrong sites. Compare identity, size, lifecycle state and current location. Check a customer with multiple sites, a container on rent, a container in maintenance and an outstanding balance. Preserve the old source export while those checks are underway.
Set a cutoff time and record changes made after the first export. Assign someone to reconcile those changes before the office switches systems. Historical photographs, attachments and accounting records may require separate handling; a tabular export does not automatically carry the underlying media files. Keep the original evidence accessible until the new workflow has been checked.
What it won’t do
A tabular export does not carry the photographs. Keep the old source and the evidence accessible until the new workflow has been reconciled.
Check it in your trial
- Choose stable source IDs and a cutoff time.
- Preview mappings and fix rejected rows.
- Reconcile a multi-site customer and an active rental.
- Keep a source backup and a rollback decision owner.
